Planning Applications
Town & Parish councils receive details of applications and are consulted on them. They can submit their views (taking into account parishioners' views), but the District/Borough Council primarily look to a parish to provide local insight and may not follow the parish's view. The public should send comments to both the Parish and District/Borough Council within any deadline period. The Town or Parish Clerk's contact details are at the top of the page. You can voice your concerns to them on any planning matter. The national Planning Portal is your one-stop shop for planning and building services online.
Parish council planning meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month starting at 7:15pm which will be preceded by a public forum.The business to be dealt with at the meeting is listed in the agenda.
The official meeting will start at 7.15 p.m. or at the conclusion of the public forum whichever is the sooner.
It is most important that, as well as attending, you should put your thoughts in writing to both the parish and district councils. There are defined, valid reasons for objections to a plan which are documented extensively on the web. Please try and use these as, "its going to spoil my view", isn't actually a valid reason to object. Here is a link to explain.
The parish council will listen to your views and do their best to represent them to the district council.
